Well maybe, but the movie she’s put together is definitely a start. I appreciate it, but…you’re right; I’d much rather see it in an actual theater than some blurry, illegal online version of it. That sounds perfect, though. I can’t wait.

Now it’s all just a matter of us being in a country where it’s actually been released. Everyone’s saying it’s a perfect mix of music performances and behind the scenes footage, but I honestly don’t think an hour and a half is going to be at all long enough. If I had a say, it’d be at least two hours long.

“At least…I think it’s this way.”

Blaine wasn’t sure how they had lucked out by ending up in Rome on the night of their one year anniversary, but of course he was going to take advantage of everything the city had to offer. He’d taken Kurt to the same restaurant they went to together a year ago, and then they’d gone out for coffee because Blaine was sort of in love with the way Europeans could drink coffee at all times of day without it seeming weird, not to mention the coffee in Rome beat even the Lima Bean’s finest. Other visits in the day had included the chocolate shop and the Trevi Fountain. Every place they’d been to last time, minus the bridge. Blaine knew Kurt would see it coming; how could they not visit the place he’d proposed to him exactly one year ago from the day? So instead Blaine had taken Kurt for a walk, hand in hand through the city as he showered him with compliment after compliment, some in English, some in Italian.

At some point, though, Blaine had glanced around, a slight look of confusion laced through his features as if he didn’t recognize where they were at all. “I actually think we passed that café…twice,” he admitted, still holding Kurt’s hand. To be fair, the city looked a lot different at night than it had during the entire day they spent walking through the streets of it, exploring everything they could before they’d have to leave. Blaine Anderson rarely got lost, so it only made sense that he’d be allowed a freebie while in a foreign country he’d only been to no more than a handful of times.

Officially one year ago today, you proposed to me and made me the happiest man alive. I couldn’t ask for a more perfect proposal, a better day, or… A better man. You’re my everything, through thick and thin. You’re mine forever and always and there isn’t a single day I want to face without you. In four years, maybe five; we’ll roll out the red carpet, have a wedding to put William and Kate to shame but.. In the mean time.. I can’t ever tire of the image of us together at the end of our lives but the real fun is getting there. I couldn’t ask for a more perfect fit. I love you with everything I have and cannot wait for New York; for just everything with you. There is so much we’ve yet to cross off our lists and while I’m certainly not rushing.. I’m looking forward to it all. I love you, Honey. Thank you for finding me and making me the happiest person alive.

Second happiest. The happiest man alive would have been the one you said yes to. And to be fair, you’re the one who found me. Stopped me, actually, and almost made me late for Warbler duties.

But in all honesty, I’m glad we found each other too. Thank you for showing me what happiness is and for being there even when it’s not easy. I wouldn’t trade you for anything in the world and there isn’t a single person who can make me smile the way you can. Asking you to marry me is still one of the best decisions I ever made, and I’m not sure any will live up to it until I finally get to give you your second ring. I love you too, Kurt, more than absolutely anything else.

Despite having been engaged to Kurt for a year now, Blaine still hadn’t gotten into the habit of waking up before his fiancé. That was where the alarm came in. He’d set one on his phone so he’d have enough time to get the room service he’d preordered the night before. It wasn’t anything spectacular. A fruit salad, a selection of different muffins, possibly an order of crepes, and Blaine may or may not have asked for cinnamon buns last minute, as well, while ordering the night before. Maybe he’d gone a bit overboard, but you could never really predict what you were going to be in the mood for and considering the way the night before had been spent, Blaine didn’t doubt that both he and Kurt would be plenty hungry anyway. He was half asleep and barely registering anything, but he was still awake enough to at least pull on a pair of sweatpants and smile politely as he thanked the cruise ship employee before taking the food inside and setting it down on the bedside table. He glanced down at his sleeping fiancé, then over to the small control dial on the wall, pursing his lips as he snuck over and quietly turned the AC down a bit because for some reason Kurt loved pretending their cabin was an igloo.

He crawled back into bed, doing his best not to pass out the second his head hit the pillow, a sleep smile pulling across his lips as he looked over at his still-sleeping fiancé. With Kurt, Blaine always had this weird combination of feeling like he’d just proposed to Kurt yesterday and feeling as though he’d been engaged with him his entire life. Either way, it was crazy to think it’d been an entire year since he’d gotten down on one ring and asked Kurt to marry him. A lot of things had changed since then; a lot for the worse at the time but a few for the better, but the only thing that had changed about Kurt was that Blaine somehow loved him more than he had a year ago.

“Kurt,” he mumbled, moving a bit closer as he tugged the blanket up over his shoulders. “Kuuuuuurt.” He nudged his nose against Kurt’s neck, curling up against him as he kissed at his shoulder, slowly dragging his lips up his neck in a line of quick, impatient kisses before his lips were eventually pressing at Kurt’s lips. “Kurt, it’s freezing. You have to wake up.” Despite how cold he was, Blaine couldn’t keep from smiling as he kissed at Kurt’s lips, his arms wrapped loosely around his fiancé as he tangled their legs together under the sheets. “I love you. You know it’s a special day when I’m awake before you are, so wake up..”
